Technical Vulnerability Management Specialist             REQ# 190000DG

Position Overview: 

The Technical Vulnerability Management Specialist is responsible for facilitation of security vulnerability assessments and also working with diverse technical teams ensuring transparency across the Enterprise. This individual is expected to operate tools to make vulnerability management efficient and to also assist in supporting the Entrust Datacard Security Operations Center’s tools and systems. This resource will act as a subject matter expert on vulnerability management and to liaise with key business and technology stakeholders to ensure compliance expectations are realized in a timely manner.

  • Execute industry-leading vulnerability management services and facilitate vulnerability remediation and patch/configuration management oversight working with diverse technical teams and requirements
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation efforts by engaging technical teams to support remediation and compliance efforts
  • Notify and publish security-related threats for all aspects of technology
  • Operate enterprise vulnerability assessment and configuration assessment tools
  • Identify and resolve false positive findings in assessment results
  • Analyze threat and vulnerability feeds, analyzing data for applicability
  • Track progress of vulnerability remediation by using agreed-upon action plans and remediation timelines with responsible technology support teams and stakeholders.
  • Assist SOC operations with issue resolution and troubleshooting of systems supporting a high security environment
  • Provide feedback and contact support of SOC system assisting with troubleshooting and/or implementations
  • Assess and recommend compensating controls and validate efficacy of existing controls
  • Responsible for generating timely vulnerability assessment reports to management and stakeholders
  • Produce vulnerability, configuration, coverage metrics and reports to demonstrate assessment coverage and remediation effectiveness
  • Maintain an awareness of existing and proposed security standards, industry best practices, legislation and regulations pertaining to information security and recommend appropriate changes

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in performing vulnerability assessments including network, web application and code analysis
  • Proven vulnerability assessment and analysis experience
  • Must be able to travel within the US and Canada as well as the UK
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with and ability to do basic scripting using VBS, Python, or Perl
  • Experience securing multiple platforms and operating systems
  • A solid understanding of network design and architecture
  • Understanding of the OSI model and TCP/IP
  • Proven Microsoft Windows and Linux/Unix administration knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of network security controls including malware protection, data loss prevention, web content filtering solutions, intrusion detection/prevention, and firewalls
  • Understanding of logging requirements and SIEM implementations
  • An understanding of regulatory requirements: PCI, SOX, HIPAA, ISO 27002 standard
