Entrust Datacard is currently looking for a Technical Sales Consultant – SSL to join our team.

The Position

Entrust Datacard has an excellent reputation for the quality of its various technical services; Professional Services (PS) is firmly committed to maintaining this tradition. PS maintains a small but highly effective team that provides a full range of technical services supporting the sale and deployment of Entrust solutions.
 
This is a highly dynamic, challenging role that covers the full lifecycle of pre sales technical activities. This role is responsible for technically educating our customers during pre-sales activities and the successful candidate will also be required to assist the Sales teams while not on billable engagements.
 
The TSC professional prides him/herself on being highly technical; keeps current on Entrust solutions; has a willingness to continually learn and train; is extremely flexible and adaptable; communicates effectively with colleagues, partners and customers; and enjoys traveling to various countries with unique cultural settings, sometimes on short notice.
This role has significant direct interaction with our customers; thus, excellent customer-facing skills and an appreciation of the commercial sales environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities

The role has the following prime responsibilities:
  • Assists the sales teams with sales calls, meetings, webinars, information sessions and trade shows;
  • Manages technology in support of pre-sales demos, POCs, and bake-offs;
  • Conducts product presentations using MS PowerPoint and related aids;
  • Conducts high level (standard) architecture design engagements;
  • Handholds, educates, provides knowledge transfer and generally ensures customers become self-sufficient on the use of their Entrust solutions;
  • Aids Customer Support in resolving customers’ technical issues.

  • Willing and able to act independently within a flexible work week, including working at home and alone on customer sites;
  • Must have a flexible approach to travel

Experience and Skills

Essential
The following knowledge, experience and capability are essential:
  • Recent experience in a similar customer facing role;
  • Demonstrable experience of customer site-based work and an ability to use strong interpersonal skills for requirement extraction and solutions design;
  • The ability to effectively communicate technological principles and directions to colleagues, customers and partners;
  • Strong problem solving abilities;
  • Solid, general SSL knowledge;
  • A thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking and related infrastructures;
  • Knowledge of integration of Entrust related, third-party vendor applications;
  • Must have a genuine interest in security technologies and a strong desire to continually gain new knowledge, experience and capability.
  • Must be willing and capable of learning all Entrust solutions to a significant technical depth.
 
Desirable
While not essential, knowledge, experience and capability in the following areas would be highly beneficial and differentiating:
  • Mail infrastructure and related systems including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Outlook and Entrust EMS;
  • Authentication and anti-fraud technologies such as Entrust IdentityGuard and Entrust TransactionGuard;
  • Software development experience and experience with Entrust toolkits, ideally within Java/J2EE/.NET environments;
  • High Availability (HA) systems configurations;
  • Directories including X.500, LDAP, DNS, AD/ADAM;
  • Working knowledge of Entrust’s use of Siebel;
  • Professional security designation such as CISSP, SSCP, CSSLP.
