Position Purpose:

The Technical Sales Consultant assists Entrust Datacard sales personnel through formal technical presentations and technical design assistance of Entrust Datacard products to existing and prospective Entrust Datacard customers. The Technical Sales Consultant also provides technical Entrust Datacard product information at exhibitions and speaking engagements. 

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures the pre-sales technical endorsement/presentation of Entrust Datacard products within target accounts
  • Provides design advice and technical guidance to sales personnel and clients in the application of Entrust Datacard products
  • Assists customers in understanding the integration of Entrust Datacard products into their existing technical infrastructure. Provides feedback to Entrust Datacard design and production personnel
  • Develops and delivers presentations, demonstrations, technical proposals, and proof-of-concept tests that educate the customer and demonstrates the value of Entrust Datacard solutions
  • Serves as the focal point for all technical responses to the customer in a pre-sales environment and post sales
  • Trains Channel Partners on the Entrust Datacard technology and solutions
  • Assists partners on implementations when needed
  • Reviews impact of new Entrust Datacard product releases, new product features, delivery schedules, and competitor offerings with sales personnel
  • Assists in the preparation of client sales proposals
  • Represents Entrust Datacard at technical exhibitions, conferences, and speaking engagements to assist in explaining technical and performance information
  • Software deployment and integration of Entrust Datacard products
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in systems integration, preferably in a sales or sales support capacity
  • Current knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and 2nd factor authentication technologies/solutions 
  • Extensive knowledge of all popular PC/Workstation operating systems, networking infrastructures, and web/client and web server environments
  • Extensive knowledge of network and internet security technology
  • Experience working as a technical lead in a pre-sales software environment
  • Travel requirements typically 50%
Preferred Requirements:
  • Professional communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Entrust Datacard products and awareness of competitor product offerings is a definite asset
  • Familiarity with technologies including smartcards, HSM’s, card management systems and certificate management solutions
  • Knowledge in Cloud Service Providers such as AWS and Azure
