Senior Technical Author, nCipher Security, Cambridge

A Senior Technical Author role has arisen based in our fantastic Cambridge office. The purpose of this role is to work within a Security Product Engineering team, producing high quality technical documentation independently - without day to day guidance or supervision.

Key Responsibilities and Activities
  • Rapidly develop technical domain and product knowledge
  • Work collaboratively with Product Management and other stakeholders to establish and agree high level documentation needs and priorities
  • Create clear and unambiguous document content that is appropriate for product users
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to research and originate new content
  • Drive personal development continuously with your line manager
  • Seek and share good practice and knowledge

Essential Skills
  • Technical authoring in a technical software and product environment
  • Excellent standard of written and spoken English
  • Experience working closely with Engineering teams
  • Good understanding of Engineering standards and processes
  • Ability to turn technical information into easily understood text
  • Ability to update technical illustrations
  • Experience of toolsets to manage version control, ticketing, collaboration, and content reviews (git, Jira, Confluence)
  • Able to achieve at least Baseline Security Clearance
Desirable Skills
  • Proficiency with MadCap Flare
