Sr. Product Manager- Supplies


Position Overview: 

Entrust Datacard is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to lead the supplies product management team.  The Senior Product Manager is responsible for a multi-million dollar line of products and will develop and execute product line and go-to-market strategies globally. The Product Manager will work in concert with the business unit head and product leadership team to deliver integrated solutions and financial performance. The successful candidate will bring a disciplined, business-oriented approach to the product management function.  Key responsibilities include leading strategic planning, new product launch activities, driving sales and channel engagement, promotions, and sales analytics and managing the product lifecycle from launch to end-of-life.  The manager should operate with a sense of urgency, be an effective leader and influencer in a matrixed environment, and be particularly effective in working with a sales organization to build the solution category and create customer demand. 

 
Responsibilities:
 
Product Management                                                                     70%
  • Defining and articulating the vision, strategies and life-cycle plans for the assigned product families
  •  Develop and successfully execute on a product portfolio that effectively serves a diverse set of global market needs and internal and external stakeholders
  • Creating business plans that define and justify the product investment, revenue and ROI opportunity of new and existing programs
  • Defining and documenting market and product requirements through MRDs and PRDs
  • Work closely with solutions marketing and sales teams globally to develop and execute go to market strategies for new and existing products.

  • Preparing and presenting recommendations to senior management on market opportunities, product performance and investment requirements to facilitate business planning and decision making

 Market Intelligence  /  Marketing Management                                   30%

  • Establishing robust Voice of the Customer and product planning and management methodologies that deliver innovative solutions to the market
  • Analyzing markets, identifying and segmenting key customer groups, competitive research, analyzing industry and technology trends, and incorporating these into product plans that optimize the tradeoffs between market opportunities, product content, and product timing
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to stay abreast of trends and implications for the business, sharing key insights with the product team and appropriate sales organizations.
  • Analyzing “make versus buy” alternatives and researching and developing OEM product relationships as an alternative to internal development
  • Serve as a solution subject matter expert as needed for internal and external purposes (annual budget, portfolio strategy, development priority rationalization, senior leadership presentations, client presentations, tradeshows, etc).
  • Working closely with product marketing to develop and implement new product launch programs
  • Working closely with other marketing functions in the creation of sales tools, product datasheets and other marketing collateral, product positioning and messaging, and impactful promotional plans for both channel partners and end users
  • Develop customer facing materials and campaigns to promote channel engagement and speed the sales cycle.
  • Providing field marketing support for customer visits, user group meetings, distributor meetings, product councils and trade shows/events
  • Performing technical assessments of complimentary and competitive product solutions
  • Working closely with the Marketing, Sales, and the Development organizations, as well as with customers, to identify creative ideas and define key areas for potential product improvement and new products
  • Product pricing, price adjustments and issuance of price books; competitive pricing analysis
Develop and deliver Sales training for the product portfolio
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business and/or engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience; product marketing or product management experience
  • Experience in marketing into a least one of the following market segments: government, education, corporate, retail, healthcare, telecommunications, transportation or financial
  • Demonstrated results establishing a product vision and road maps that lead to successful product growth and profitability
  • Demonstrated technical acumen & ability to collaborate effectively with the product engineering, customer support and operations teams.

  • Strong demonstrated analytical experience including market research/analysis and competitive intelligence

  • Must possess excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills,  

  • Ability to thrive in complex, fast-paced B2B marketing environment

  • Demonstrated results in a successful, high growth, profit oriented organization
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US

  • Personal: Strong interpersonal skills; high energy and enthusiasm; has a passion for the role; flexible and creative; results oriented; ability to deal with challenges and problems without losing drive.
  • Marketing:  Must be well balanced between solid business/marketing strategy and the execution aspects of the job, with a strong understanding of the marketing function; ability to convert objectives into effective marketing plans and marketing messages.
