Operations Compliance Analyst

Position Overview:

Entrust Datacard (EDC) is currently looking for an Operations Compliance Analyst who will serve as a key member of the Certificate Solutions Operations team. The Operations Compliance Analyst will be responsible for maintenance and dissemination of operating procedures, ensuring adherence to the governing Certificate Practice Statement (CPS), key control operation, external audit support and evidence collection and oversight over PKI-related work performed in our high security data centre.


This role will work very closely with the CA Service Manager, CA Operations Officer, SSL Architect as well as members of the mPKI/MSO, Operations and Certificate Solutions teams.

  • Create, maintain and enforce Certificate Operations polices and procedures, ensuring they are kept up to date and communicated

  • Ensure procedures and controls are operated in accordance with the CPS and satisfy external WebTrust and ETSI audit criteria

  • Drive efficiency, modernization, and automation (where possible) into existing operating procedures and control design

  • Recommend changes to and coordinate approval of updates to Certificate Operations Procedures and control statements

  • Work with Certificate Solutions organization members to identify and drive adherence to new audit requirements. Provide direction and oversee the implementation of controls to satisfy new requirements

  • Assist in identification of controls gaps and collaborate with control owners to ensure gaps are appropriately addressed

  • Operate key controls, in accordance with documented control statements, and maintain evidence of control operation

  • Provide support during annual WebTrust and ETSI compliance audits and assist with executing audit-related corrective action

  • Perform continuous validation of CA components and CA operations

  • Provide generic training on audit requirements, control operation and Certificate Operations policies and procedures

  • Supervise approved PKI change activities or troubleshooting in the CA High Security data centre, ensuring the work is completed in accordance with policy and security controls are upheld

  • Maintain security of the CA at all times and report any suspected security violations and breaches

  • Assist the CA Service Manager and/or CA Operations Officer as required

Basic Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be either:

  • an audit, risk or compliance resource with experience in IT audit or an aptitude for technology

  • a junior IT system administration resource, with a risk and compliance mindset and desire to expand into IT Governance

  • College or University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; or

  • Equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years IT experience or 4+ years of internal audit or compliance experience in an IT environment

  • Experience developing policies and procedures or maintaining IT process documentation (e.g. build books, requirements documents)

  • Detail-oriented, self-starter who can work independently and possesses excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities, problem solve and maintain a high-level of organization in their work

  • Responsible, accountable and a change agent to drive compliance activities

  • Ability to understand and interpret audit requirements and assess adequacy of control operations and supporting evidence to demonstrate compliance

  • Unwavering ability to enforce security policies and procedures

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization for Canada and ability to travel freely


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of ITSM/ITIL
  • Global/International Data Center experience

  • PKI experience
  • High Availability, High Security, Internet Data Centre Experience and the requisite rigour needed to operate in that environment
