Position Overview: 
The Senior Benefits Analyst, leads and supports service delivery related to health and welfare and retirement benefit plans, including day to day administration, communication and vendor management. Reports to  and partners with Sr. Manager, Global Benefits on design, implementation and legal compliance for benefit programs.

Responsibilities:
 
Operations
  • Oversees day-to-day administration of employee benefit plans and programs, including: Health & Welfare (group medical, dental, vision, life, accident, financial accounts (FSA, HSA), FMLA, short term disability and long term disability) and Retirement (401k and frozen Pension).
  • Administers Leaves of Absence (STD, LTD, FML, WC, OSHA Reporting) in coordination with third party administrators.
  • Collaborates with vendors to resolve interface errors, plan design challenges, and employee benefit issues.
  • Documents processes for employee benefit administration activities; assesses opportunities for efficiencies and process improvement.
  • Oversees annual open enrollment process.
  • Partners with HRIS staff to ensure Oracle Cloud HCM system data integrations accurately capture plan requirements and conducts appropriate system testing and auditing as necessary.
  • Provides training and support to HR & Benefit Administrator.
 
Project Management
  • Manages various benefits projects. Creates project plan and communication plan; may lead others on the team
  • Supports benefits team on special projects and initiatives.
 
Compliance and Governance
  • Ensures plans are administered in accordance with plan documents and compliant with regulations. Works closely with key individuals both inside and outside the company, filing necessary regulatory forms and drafting and coordinating the mailings of legally required communications (including Form 5500, ACA reporting, SPDs, annual required plan participant notices).
  • Uses Plan Documents, SPDs and other reference materials to address and resolve escalated plan inquiries from current and former employees.
  • Leads annual external audit of retirement plans working directly with auditors, finance and outsourced administrators. Support annual corporate audit.
  • Validate data extracts for actuarial valuations and respond to inquiries from actuaries for Pension Plan, retiree medical and retiree life.
     
Analytics, Data Management, Plan Research/Design
  • Completes benchmark surveys; Reviews and analyzes results.
  • Contributes to the development of benefit program recommendations.
  • Ensures data integrity by monitoring vendor integrations and recommending improvements.
 
Communications & Engagement
  • Leads the communication delivery of benefit programs
  • Conducts associate meetings for open enrollment or new benefit introduction
  • Provides employees with a high level of customer service and addresses issues in a timely manner.
  • Supports other HR team members by resolving escalated benefits issues and providing technical benefits expertise.
  • Updates employee benefits communication, including SPDs and benefits documentation posted on the company’s intranet for access by employees.
  • Provide current, accurate and timely benefit information to all vendor inquiries

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of benefits experience administering health & welfare and 401(k) retirement plans, with at least 5 years project management and analytical experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge & understanding of insurance regulations, plan designs and third party record keeping/administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IRS, DOL, ERISA, HIPAA, PPACA, COBRA, FMLA, Form 5500 filings, SPD updates and distribution, and other state and federal benefits laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal/written communication skills & presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the U.S. and have unrestricted work authorization for U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pension Plan (defined benefit) experience.
  • Completion or near completion of CEBS (or comparable designation).
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud HCM and PeopleSoft Benefit Administration.
  • Team player that exhibits credibility, integrity, energy and a strong desire to contribute to Entrust Datacard’s success.
