A Senior Tactical Software Engineer position has arisen at nCipher Security, an Entrust Datacard Company based in our fantastic Cambridge Office.


The purpose of this role is to work within a collaborative Security Product Engineering team and provide effective and responsive third-line support to key customers - addressing customer issues and sometimes developing customer-specific enhancements.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

·       rapidly develop technical domain and product knowledge

·       perform a full range of software engineering activities across the full scope of our product

·       refine solution/product requirements including non-functional requirements

·       create designs, implement code, perform unit and acceptance tests

·       develop software in a logical and controlled manner

·       lead and participate in reviews to ensure the integrity and robustness of deliverables

·       participate in integration and verification

·       produce software packages for release to customers


Essential Skills

·       significant implementation and problem solving experience on complex, multi-component products

·       effective use of multiple development languages (essential: C;    desirable:  C++, Java, Python)

·       experience within a product development organisation

·       experience of design and programming on a variety of platforms and environments including Linux and Windows based operating systems

Desirable Qualifications

·      degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant technical degree, or with a technical postgraduate qualification
