Position Overview: 

The Sr. Manager IT Development, Business Intelligence leads a team of IT Professionals and is responsible for providing leadership and managing the development and maintenance of information technology within a dynamic organization in the area of SAP Business Objects.    This leader will Lead strategic projects and help create Data Science capabilities. This role is also responsible for managing the strategic direction of existing applications and solutions in this space which include facilitating the planning, design and delivery of solutions according to the approved specs/requirements with adherence to time, cost, regulatory, technology and quality parameters.  Types of initiatives may include system upgrades, integrating acquisitions, facility expansions or contractions, enhancements as well other process improvement initiatives.  The individual will assist the IT Leadership team in building a culture of high performing teams, business partnerships, continuous improvement opportunities and quality by using a wide degree of creativity and past experiences to develop and improve technical and procedural processes for the customer and the IT organization.  He/she will also actively mentor and develop individuals within their team to enhance the team’s capability and improve their skills and performance.  The individual will remain abreast of technology and provide technology thought leadership, which is embodied in the IT strategy and architecture.  Works with the IT Management to determine, track and manage IT budget.   • Directs and oversees high level strategic and tactical decisions for business intelligence tools and applications.
  • Facilitates organizational data strategies for governance, design, implementation, integration and usage.
  • Responsible for leading the design and maintenance of business intelligence applications.
  • Constantly and consistently communicates IT initiatives and priorities to all levels of management
  • Keeps current on applications and technologies, communicates applicability as appropriate
  • Builds business cases to implement new applications or technologies to support business objectives
  • Oversees large projects ensuring adherence to budget and schedule 
  • Participates in annual budget planning process and quarterly reviews of goals and objectives
  • Estimates projects and tasks, then partners with key stakeholders on setting priorities and expectations
  • Sets priorities for team members, monitors activity, and reports on team progress
  • Collaborates with the enterprise architecture and other IT leaders to establish long-term plans and road maps for the data warehousing capability
  • Leads the development process while considering impacts to other areas
  • Works with team to ensure consistent documentation of business processes and appropriate levels of training of existing and new users
  • Participates in cross-functional discussions to enable process improvement
  • Gives input into developing the budget.
  • Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Become a trusted partner with leaders by providing business intelligence analysis and strategic direction.
  • Partner with senior management to understand and deliver performance insights and key analytics solutions.
  • Perform general management responsibilities such as hiring, performance management, performance reviews, individual development activities, etc.
  • Monitor team performance against department standards, and ensure that these standards are consistently met or exceeded
  • Assisting in disciplinary decisions and action
  • Act as escalation point for issues and provide leadership and guidance to team
  • Provide necessary work direction and manage projects effectively through planning, organization and project management
  • Holds a deep understanding of business processes within SAP Business Objects
  • Works with technical team on solution design and facilitate testing to ensure requirements are met
  • Establishes positive working relationships with project members so that the team receives comprehensive information to build according to the requirement
  • Communicates with various departments and ensures everyone understands requirements, timelines, and roles
  • Works with team to ensure consistent documentation of business processes and appropriate levels of training of existing and new users
Up to 15% Travel required

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years Management experience working within IT
  • 4+ years experience working as a Business Intelligence architect or leader
  • Experience leading large and small scale international projects
  • Implementation or support experience with SAP Business Objects
  • Experience supporting a global client base
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US
Preferred Qualifications:
·         Previous IT Management experience and budget control experience
  • Prior exposure to working with large volumes of disparate sets of data along with extract/transfer/load, data cleansing and standardization best practices and data warehousing.
  • Previous experience performing financial, manufacturing, operations and sales modeling.
·         Experience in the identification and implementation of strategy through the utilization of KPI's, operational insights, predictive modeling and research
·         Knowledge of project management tools and techniques
·         Knowledge of MS Office products and related software programs
·         Explicitly understands business analysis concepts; including requirements planning, management, elicitation, communication, documentation, and solution validation
·         Ability to interact and develop relationships with all levels of personnel, including senior management, from both business and technology teams
·         Experienced in leading a team in developing business and test case documents along with a cost/benefit analysis
·         Strong customer orientation and commitment to quality
·         Proven written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to think analytically, solve problems, make decisions, and collaborate and work with a team
  • Ability to juggle competing demands and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail
