Senior Human Resources Business Partner                                                    REQ# 19000058

Position Overview: 

Working with and reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position is accountable for assuring all HR issues are addressed and resolved quickly as well as working to set strategic HR direction that drives growth & value for assigned client groups and removing barriers to the business.  The Sr. HR Business Partner provides HR counsel and problem-resolution support at a strategic level, teaming with assigned clients to build high performing teams through performance management, talent acquisition, employee relations, interpretation/application of employment policies and procedures.  The Sr. HR Business Partner will be accountable for executing the items detailed below and for performing other duties as assigned.  This role can work in our Madrid or Barcelona location.

  • Build strong and trusting relationships
  • Partner with Leaders to assess needs and establish HR priorities.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the business and market in order to influence effectiveness and provide insight to assigned client leadership.
  • Support HR and business unit driven change initiatives.
  • Effectively manage employee relations issues.  Lead investigations and conflict resolution or mediation activities.  Seek counsel from legal team as needed.
  • Recommend and administer policies and procedures that support the company philosophy, culture and strategic goals.
  • Work with assigned leadership and HR team members to manage voluntary and involuntary employee separations.
  • Facilitate the recruiting process for client openings and partner with client leaders and the talent acquisition team to ensure that we recruit and hire the right talent for our needs.
  • Challenge and coach leaders as appropriate to provide trusted counsel and perspective.
  • Facilitate performance management and talent management processes within assigned business unit.
  • Lead change initiatives at the HR, business-unit or corporate level.
  • Initiate and design strategic HR projects.
  • Lead projects and/or teams as assigned to ensure projects are completed on schedule and on budget.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business
  • Minimum of 5 years Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment law in Spain
  • Strong initiative and results orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
  • Experience leading change initiatives
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite & HRIS)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations
  • Experience working in a global HR organization
  • Knowledge of employment law in other regions such as the Middle East and Africa 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience coordinating and managing projects
  • Experience with facilitating training
  • Strategic thinking as demonstrated through long-term planning initiatives
