Job Title – Sales Executive, Government                        REQ#  190000AA

 

Position Overview: 

This strategic position in sales fosters and generates new cybersecurity business opportunities with Cygnacom’s Customers and Partners. These customers are made up of the US Federal Government Agencies and cybersecurity solution companies. To be successful you will have proven knowledge of developing business strategies and project management expertise. The right candidate will have demonstrated experience building relationships, strategic partnerships, and being customer-focused.

 
Responsibilities:

Opportunity Identification & Execution – 50%

Key Actions/Activities

  • Meet with key clients, maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
  • Manage consistent and effective sales management tools and processes, including forecasting, sales activity reporting, quota management, and account planning
  • Provide new concepts along with their fit and alignment to Cygnacom strategy
  • Evangelize the Cygnacom corporate overview and capabilities in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Develop a deep understanding of the competitive set within the government and lab markets, and leverage this to develop and deliver sustainable points of difference which meet customer needs
  • Drive the development and execution of key initiatives including but not limited to revenue objectives and quarterly revenue quota
  • Work with the EDC Sales team to develop a cohesive product and services strategy to further penetrate the US Federal agencies


Strategic Pipeline Planning & Strategy – 25%

Key Actions/Activities

  • Support and drive strategy through leadership of strategic discussions, participate in business development activities, and make recommendations to SLT
  • Develop long-term growth strategies for the company
  • Proactively develop new, on trend business opportunities and solutions which have the potential to drive growth and profitability within the Cygnacom business model
  • Evangelize the development of suitable market solutions in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Monitor US Government RFI, RFP, and Proposal release systems and provide a weekly report of findings and targets to pursue
  • Coordinate and manage RFI’s, RFP’s, and proposals for completion and submission
  • Assist in post mortems on all proposals submitted whether they are won or lost
  • Proactively review government programs and formulate a strategy to pursue various government agencies to satisfy these programs
 

Relationship Management – 25%

Key Actions/Activities

  • Develop and manage relationships with key government market influencers, providing both business and technical input to position Cygnacom favorably
  • Pursue, develop and maintain relationships with key integrators and potential partners that currently have other services offered into the government market to help foster strategic partner relationships
  • Actively participate in working groups, committees and industry council
  • Accelerate and drive the growth of win-rate within Government Opportunities and Lab Opportunities
  • Secure new partners and customers while maintaining current valuable relationships

Basic Qualifications:
·         Bachelor’s degree
·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in government sales
·         Successful track record of developing sales, service, bid management and solutions delivery in Federal government programs, and executing effectively against those plans
·         Excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers, partners, and colleagues
·         Project management experience
·         Proficient with Microsoft Suite
·         Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US
·         Must be eligible for government security clearance
·         Travel Requirements: Minimum of 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
·         Master’s degree
·         B2B and consumer market research experience
·         Demonstrated success working on a remote team
·         Previous sales management experience with hardware/software technology solutions
·         Demonstrated achievement in exceeding quota and revenue targets
·         Proven consultative selling abilities
·         Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and leadership
·         Demonstrated ability to effectively work and influence across an organization
