Position Overview

Entrust Datacard is seeking an accomplished, accountable leader for the role of Manager, Indirect Purchasing. The Manager of Indirect Purchasing will be responsible for working with internal customers to generate and execute sourcing strategies for Facilities Services, Advertising, Trade Shows, Travel, MRO, IT Tools and Equipment and other indirect expenses as required. This position will collaborate with their direct reports and customers to move the organization from a tactical, reactionary process to a strategic, proactive approach through the creation and deployment of appropriate tools and resources. This position will ensure compliance and standardization of the process. The Manager of Indirect Purchasing will be highly visible and communicate and work collaboratively at all levels throughout the organization. The right applicant will have a global mindset and proven strength of navigating the complexities of a global landscape within supply chain.

 
Responsibilities
Supply Chain Management
  • Leads the team ensuring adequate services, suppliers, equipment and other materials are available to meet business needs.
  • Drive adoption of procurement policies.
  • Analyzes industry trends and evolving technologies and leverage buying power to proactively identify supply issues, minimize risk and non-compliance, protect continuity of supply, exploit emerging opportunities, and keep apprised of global market trends.
  • Works collaboratively across the company to select suppliers, establish alternative sources of supply, and to leverage spend that meet strategic initiatives and company objectives including cost efficiencies.
  • Forms negotiation strategies to achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers and negotiates contracts to meet business objectives.
  • Administers and manages contracts and the process to ensure compliance externally and standardization and compliance internally while adhering to global laws and regulations and the company’s standards.
  • Establishes operational/performance objectives for entire department, communicates objectives effectively, while also delegating assignments to colleagues.
  • Directs and implements the development of business strategies, methods, tools, resources, and policies and procedures for the department to support company objectives using proven and innovative strategies.
  • Annually review policies and processes for effectiveness and continuous improvement and works with suppliers to measure and improve performance.
  • Builds, manages, and adheres to department budget, procurement schedules, productivity, and reports on cost savings and reduction, and spend management to ensure support of company financial goals.
  • Monitors actual performance versus goals and reports results.
  • Must be flexible and able to take on broader assignments, duties, projects, and/or opportunities as assigned.
 
Leadership & People Management                                                                                                            
  • Perform general management responsibilities such as hiring, performance management, performance reviews, individual development activities, etc.
  • Coach, develop, and train colleagues on policies, procedures, company objectives and strategy, and continual career growth
  • Strong consensus builder and cross-functional and cross-organizational team leader
  • Lead and influence a diverse team
  • Monitor team performance against department standards, and ensure that these standards are consistently met or exceeded
  • Assisting in disciplinary decisions and action
  • Act as escalation point for issues and provide leadership and guidance to team
  • Provide necessary work direction and manage projects effectively through planning, organization and project management

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 8 years of purchasing experience, with at least two years of indirect purchasing, in a high-tech manufacturing environment
  • 3 years of management experience in a purchasing role
  • Proficient use in a Tier I ERP system for supply chain management
  • Demonstrated Mastery of contract development and negotiation.
  • Strong, clear, and concise communication skills
  • Understanding of key financial metrics
  • Strong business acumen and solid knowledge of business systems, supplier development, and process improvement.
  • Adaptable, persistent, self-directed, organized; can multi-task, and welcome to new ideas.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or MBA
·         10 years of experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment
·         5 years of management experience in a purchasing, planning, or materials management role
·         CPM, CPSM, or APICS certification
·         Demonstrated success implementing and managing significant organizational growth and change
·         Cross-cultural communication skills
·         Critical thinking and strong problem-solving expertise in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
·         Strong interpersonal and leadership influencing skills, able to build relationship and inspire others
·         Fundamental understand of LEAN methodologies
·         Solid project management skills, PMP certification
·         Oracle experience
