Basic Qualifications
 

The ideal candidate has a broad technical understanding of infrastructure technologies and cloud technologies, in general, including enterprise security, storage, networking, VMware virtualization, data center, integration architecture, orchestration technologies, containerization technologies and application development lifecycle management.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical degree and/or work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure support & operations
  • Solid understanding of IT systems development process, including architecture, design, engineering and operations.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization (VMware) and container solutions  
  • Deep knowledge of server operating systems MS Server 2012R2/2016/2019, RHEL & CentOS 6/7/8
  • Solid experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell , Python, GO, BASH, Ansible
  • Must have an expert-level understanding of software development lifecycle and infrastructure deployment processes, especially within a DevOps practice.
  • Mentor junior engineers
Requirements:
 
  • Understand and model Agile behaviors and concepts
  • Maintain technical knowledge within areas of expertise
  • Stay current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
  • Participation in a 24x7 on-call support rotation and off-hours maintenance windows
  • Respond to and fulfill customer service requests
  • Responsible for maintaining and creating relevant and up to date infrastructure documentation for all deployed systems and cross-training other team members
  • Identify and improve any processes or procedures that are outdated or obsolete with respect to technical architecture
  • Build strong commitment within the team to support the appropriate team priorities
  • Work with Supply Chain/Vendor Management to negotiate vendor service contracts and license and maintenance  
 
 
Preferred Experience:
 
  • Experience implementing and supporting a self-service catalog utilizing vRealize Automation
  • Orchestration tools: vRealize Automation, Satellite/Foreman, Packer
  • Configuration Management; Puppet, Salt, Ansible Tower
  • Repository: Git, Artifacatory, Jenkins
  • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
