The Director of Sales Operations is a key operational role that will be responsible for overall sales process effectiveness and optimization, including leadership of the following:  sales planning and reporting, quota setting and management, and CRM system data integrity and accountability to ensure reporting and metrics are accurate and reliable. This person will possess strong analytical, management, team building and organizational skills, as well as the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with multiple internal departments. 

 

The ideal candidate is able to think “big picture” to proactively identify strategic direction and is also willing to roll up their sleeves to create analytical frameworks and solutions that directly support revenue growth and/or sales force efficiency.  

 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Pipeline reporting and analysis
  • Support or facilitate the enablement of initiatives, programs, training and policies and processes
  • With sales management, analyze performance results and trends, and make recommendations to resolve organizational performance challenges
  • Coordinates sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the sales organization
  • Provide sales metrics and reporting;  ensures sales reports and other internal intelligence is provided to the sales organization
  • Coordinate with Finance, RVPs to ensure overall sales commitments are being met monthly and communicated to product line and manufacturing
  • Work closely with sales and manufacturing teams to identify, communicate and resolve discrepancies in forecast and production plan
  • Prepare executive sales presentations
  • Manage sales quoting process and assistance in preparing quotes
  • Liaison with Sales, Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources to provide assistance with sales incentive compensation administration on an as-needed basis
  • Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement
  • Management of Sales Operations Analysts 
  • Monitors the sales organization’s compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data.

Basic Requirements:   We seek an individual with a successful track record who must be comfortable with a fast paced and changing environment. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 8 years of sales operations experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a commercial or sales environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other relevant field from accredited university
  • Experience working with sales teams
  • Experience working with contracts
  • Experience using a CRM system (Oracle CRM On Demand & SalesForce.com preferred)
  • Experience working in a global environment
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sales experience preferred
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition practices
  • Effective team building abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong change agent with particular focus on process improvement
  • Knowledge and understanding of Sales commercial processes is a distinct advantage
  • Demonstrated success in sales operations or sales management, including strategic sales planning, execution and continuous improvement
  • Skilled at providing leadership, direction and feedback to team members, including remote field sales staff
  • Both results-oriented and collaborative, able to work independently and also function well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work cross functionally at both senior and individual contributor levels
  • Outstanding business acumen and financial analysis skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills
  • Ability to work in a complex, fast paced environment managing multiple priorities while applying a hands-on approach.
