We are seeking an experienced global benefits leader to lead and manage our US and global benefit programs.  In this position you and your team will be responsible for planning, designing and administering market competitive benefit programs, both on a national and international level, including health/dental insurance, group life, retirement, and disability  benefits, wellness programs and other related programs that attract, motivate and reward our global workforce.

Strategy & Planning
  • Partner with VP, Compensation and Benefits to develop and deliver short-and long-term strategic recommendations to ensure global benefit programs are cost effective, competitive and flexible to meet the needs of a diverse workforce, while in compliance with all legal requirements. 
  • Ensures benefit programs are aligned with business and people strategies and objectives.
  • Oversees the annual strategic and financial planning for US and global benefit programs
Program Oversight, Design & Implementation
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, managing and communicating cost effective and competitive benefit programs to attract and retain employees on a global basis.  Includes, health, welfare and retirement plans.
  • Partners with brokers in the gathering and analysis of global benefits inventory and market data to effectively understand the competitiveness of our benefit programs.
  • Maintains oversight of global benefits inventory data for annual renewals and assessment and preparation of country/region specific presentations.
Vendor & Broker Management
  • Accountable for vendor selection and assisting with contract negotiations that assure the highest level of customer service, compliance and effective process management.
  • Recommends the selection of all vendors, brokers and administrative partners for the benefits function and is responsible for the day to day management of these relationships.  
Communication & Engagement
  • Develops and implements an effective communication strategy and plan for the roll out of benefit plans/programs.
  • Communicates benefit programs to internal and external parties. Manages the preparation/distribution of materials describing Benefits programs.
  • Oversees the benefits team in the communication of plan documentation including Summary Annual Reports, Statements of Material Modification, Summary Plan Descriptions and the like.
  • Ensures internal and external websites provide current and relevant information.
Budget and Cost Management
  • Proactively partners with Finance department on budgeting and accrual of all global benefits programs.  Collaborates with the financial team to analyze claims and benefit trends and make recommendations/improvements to benefit plan design.  
  • Understand and participate in financial aspects of benefit programs including the development of rate setting and forecasting
  • Oversees all compliance activity ensuring plan audits and 5500 filings are completed accurately and timely, including the identification and correction of issues or trends that would negatively impact the financial and operational integrity of the plans. 
  • Has strong knowledge of and oversees compliance with the ACA/health care reform legislation
  • Responsible for the planning of and setting up pension and retirement plan committee meetings including US and Canada.  Participates on the Japan pension committee.
  • Assists in due diligence activities for potential acquisitions as needed, and leads benefit integration activities of acquisitions
Benefits Team
  • Manages and leads the benefits team including performance development and coaching   
  • Actively participates in global Human Resources team
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field
  • 8  years of experience in benefit plan management, design and implementation including 4 years management
  • Experience with global/international benefit plan design and administration.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the technical and compliance/regulatory aspects of benefit plans (ERISA, ACA, HIPPA, COBRA, FMLA and 401k regulations and compliance)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, oral and listening
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, priorities and deadlines concurrently
  • Demonstrated people leadership and development skills
  • Strong team player
  • CEBS certification
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or MBA
