Position Overview:
Entrust Datacard is currently looking for a Cloud Services Engineer to join our Cloud Services team.  This position will be based in our Dallas TX office and will report to the Service Manager, US Managed PKI team.  Entrust Datacard’s Cloud Services run a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering out of state-of-the-art datacenters. The Cloud Service Engineer will be responsible for maintaining existing Cloud Services as well as deploying PKI/SSL/IdentityGuard solutions for new customers.
 
Responsibilities:
Operations - 50%
  • Maintain existing cloud services – patch existing systems, deploy new components based on customer demand.
  • Identify and implement improvements to our systems (performance, security, etc.). Implement system enhancements (software/hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
  • Deploy and configure monitoring solutions and components to ensure all systems are being properly checked for service and performance issues.
  • Perform incident analysis and resolution.
  • Perform problem analysis following any service issues to prevent recurrence.
  • Participation in the on-call rotation.
Design/Deploy – 50%
  • Design or provide specifications for hardware/software.
  • Analyze, install, acquire, modify and support operating systems, applications, databases or utilities software.
  • Perform product evaluations and make product recommendations.
  • Review and assess system vulnerabilities to determine appropriate solutions to address any findings on a continuous basis.
  • Create and build upon existing automation foundation to script the execution of operations and deployment tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 2 year technical degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years IT experience
  • 2+ years of High Availability, High Security, Internet Datacenter Experience and the requisite rigor needed to operate in that environment
  • Strong Authentication and Identity Management Platform Experience
  • Detailed design skills for all application components in the web, app, and data layers.
  • Detailed application documentation skills and experience
  • Design and deployment experience with most of the following technologies:  Apache Tomcat, VMWare, Red Hat Linux, PostgreSQL, and SafeNet HSMs
  • Design or provide specifications for hardware/software
  • Analyze, install, acquire, modify and support operating systems, applications, databases or utilities software
  • Perform product evaluations and make product recommendations
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization for the USA and ability to travel freely to Canada and internationally
  • Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with PKIs and related technologies (LDAP directories, HSMs, OCSP) and security practices
  • Knowledge of ITSM/ITIL
  • Working knowledge of Entrust suite of PKI/SSL/IDG products (training will be provided, if required)
  • Working knowledge of RedHat Directory Services
  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale technical service via IaaS-enabled infrastructures
  • Hands-on experience with Safenet or nCipher Hardware Security Modules
  • Knowledge of networking and network devices (Cisco, Juniper)
  • CCNA, RHCE, VCP, CISSP or similar certification
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, C++ programming and other languages will be a strong asset
  • Familiarity with automation platforms such as Ansible and Chef.
  • Working knowledge of PKI policy and audit compliance
