Position Overview: 

The Associate Field Service Technician will provide technician support to our customers in the Baltimore, MD areaThey perform client-site servicing activities required by First Line Supplies Management (FLSM) Service Solution contracts. As a customer-facing and technical related role, this position is a potential gateway for other roles into the traditional services organization. 

FLSM Service Solution maintenance
  • Within defined service times, answers to routed and scheduled calls by driving to the customer location to perform the following activities on Entrust Datacard’s equipment under contract:
    • Removal and secure destruction of spent material using custom ribbon/foil destruction tool and in accordance with established security protocol
    • Replacement of system supplies and consumables
    • Perform the documented preventative maintenance (PM) process
    • Perform systems tests to assure quality output
  • Maintains and controls –as instructed by management- permanent inventory of parts and supplies is kept to perform service calls
  • Reports activity in a timely manner
  • Requests and escalates for immediate support from manager in case difficulties arise in performance of activities or if during activity other potential technical issues outside of the scope of the role are identified
  • Follow and adhere to established processes and procedures
 Learning and Development
  • Participate in company sponsored personal development and quality initiatives
  • Complete all company training and development courses required by Entrust Datacard

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Technical and or mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift 55 pounds routinely
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient problem solving and troubleshooting skills for mechanical assemblies
  • Demonstrated ability to read and follow assembly drawings, schematics, bill of materials and follow technical processes
  • Proficient with PC’s, operating systems and relevant software applications
  • Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to communicate effectively with external and internal customers
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, assignments and travel when required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional electromechanical technician experience
  • Additional power supply and peripheral device repair experience
  • Technical education preferred
  • Skilled with tools and electronic test equipment
